Vincent Baptist Church

"And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' doctrine..." Acts 2:42

Vincent Settlement Church was organized on July 17, 1886 in Carlyss, Louisiana. 13 Charter members organized the Church out of the Antioch Baptist Church in Edgerly, Louisiana. Vincent Settlement Baptist Church is the third oldest Church listed in the Carey Baptist Association.

Originally organized as a Southern Baptist Church, the Church withdrew from the Southern Baptist Association in July 1982, and became an Independent, Fundamental Baptist Church.

The first Church building was completed on December 10, 1887. In 1913, property was purchased from Nathaniel Vincent, on August 6, 1918 a major hurricane destroyed the original Church and the present Church building was rebuilt and is still in use today.
